Session format

The workshop comprises two sessions on two days. It is recommended to attend BOTH sessions. However, if you can only join session 2, watch this introductory video (45min) first.

Session #1: Data exploration and statistical discovery (2023 Feb 22nd, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm)

  • Data access and cleaning
  • Exploratory data analysis and visualization
  • Basic statistical analyses
  • Tips & tricks, learning resources, etc.

Session #2: Predictive modelling and machine learning (2023 Feb 23rd, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm)

  • Data modelling
  • Model comparison and selection
  • Cross-validation to avoid over-fitting
  • Model profiling and optimization

These sessions will be practical hands-on using real engineering examples and case studies.

Prerequisites

Participants should pre-install JMP Pro 17, installers for Windows and macOS are available here – log in to Software Self service portal (cranfield.topdesk.net). Find ‘Software’ and then look for JMP version 17 .
