Workshop overview  
University and the workplace can be stressful environments.

The PhD journey is academically rigorous as well as being emotionally and physically challenging. You’re expected to undertake responsibilities you may not have encountered before and frequently meet tough deadlines, in an ever changing environment. 

This introductory workshop will consider with you what it means to be resilient, whilst maintaining wellbeing and being able to cope and bounce back from challenges. 

Who should participate?  
This session is tailored for PhD students at all stages of their university research journey; with messages and methodologies that positively impact both their academic and professional development.

Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs)

By the end of the workshop participants should be able to:

  • ​Discuss and reflect upon the meaning of Resilience, 
  • Describe what employers are looking from resilient staff,
  • Identify methods of enhancing your own resilience.
